Two words….

SUGAR. PECANS.

What’s not to love about those words??  I mean, really?  And once you whip up a batch of these little sugar nuggets, you can use them for so many dishes!  Here are a few suggestions:

  • Toss them in a spinach salad
  • Crush them and put them in your pie crust
  • Use as a garnish for a pie or cheesecake
  • Sprinkle some on top of pumpkin ravioli
  • Mix into a cheeseball
  • Chop and toss them in a chicken salad
  • Use as a topping for your waffles, pancakes or french toast
  • Chop and put in your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe
  • Top your roasted Thanksgiving vegetables
Candied Pecans
1 egg white
1 t. water
1 lb. pecan halves
1 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. salt
Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
Whip egg white and water until egg white is frothy.   Stir in pecan halves and coat evenly.
Stir together sugar, cinnamon, and salt.  Pour mixture onto pecans and toss to coat.
Pour pecans on a baking sheet and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
